The City of New Orleans selected Fenstermaker to address the damages to roadways, sidewalks, driveways and curbing caused by Hurricane Katrina and the subsequent cleanup operations in the Central City neighborhood and prepare documentation of FEMA funding eligibility. Fenstermaker provided surveying, field investigation of needed repairs, a report of scoped repairs and funding eligibility, and engineering plans. Fenstermaker physically verified the FEMA eligible dimensions and damages through field investigation during the scoping assessments. During verification in the field, some eligible repairs were found to have cracked or deteriorated beyond the limits of the original repair request. Driveways, sidewalks and curbs may have deteriorated and cracked further since the original assessment of FEMA eligible damage. Curbs and sidewalks that were not ADA-compliant were also identified in the plans for replacement. These additional damages were added to the report of scoped damage and included in the engineering plans. Future services include construction administration and resident inspection.
