With a population of just under 63,000, the rural Parish of Acadia is taking big-city strides to offer citizens easier access to property information and supporting legal documentation. A partnership between the Offices of the Assessor and Clerk of Court will prove invaluable as Courthouse documents are now being sold online through the Assessor’s map interface. Obtaining property records for Acadia Parish is as simple as a few clicks from your desktop or tablet.
Access the map by visiting the Acadia Parish Assessor’s website at www.acadiaassessor.org and clicking on the ‘Maps’ tab. Once you zoom into a parcel, click for further details. Users have the option to produce FREE parcel reports along with accessing Courthouse documents available for purchase and download.
It is the Assessor’s duty to maintain property maps for each parcel along with legal descriptions and ownership inventory. Acadia Parish Assessor, Jimbo Petitjean, is committed to exercising this duty in conjunction with the utilization of a state-of-the-art Geographic Information System. It is the Clerk of Court’s obligation to provide records and recorded information to the public. Acadia Parish Clerk of Court, Robby Barousse, is devoted to this cause, keeping current with technology to offer various methods for access.
Acadia Parish is a place where collaborative energies are at work – all to benefit the people.
