Lafayette’s State of the Parish address, hosted by Mayor-President Monique Blanco Boulet, asked a powerful question: “Why not?”
This year’s event brought together leaders driving progress across industries and institutions—each holding in common bold initiatives that will shape our future. The collective ambition at the CAJUNDOME & Convention Center was undeniable—a testament to the strength, resilience, and vision that define Lafayette Parish.
Our Mayor-President’s embrace of the phrase Cur Non?—the Latin motto of the Marquis de Lafayette—is a challenge to think bigger, lead with conviction, and seize the opportunities before us.
As she stated in her speech:
“Do we want to own our own electric and internet infrastructure and control our growth and our future? Why not?
Do we want to welcome hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the world to share in our precious French heritage? Why not?
Do we want to embrace new industries, new ideas, and new opportunities that propel Lafayette forward? Why not?
Do we want to build on our legacy of innovation, resilience, and community spirit to create a future where everyone has the opportunity to thrive? Why not?”
Fenstermaker stands proudly alongside those who ask Cur Non?—those who see challenges as opportunities and ideas as blueprints for progress. Supporting an event that sparks meaningful conversation and drives action is a privilege, and we are fully invested in shaping the bright future of our community.
The road ahead is ours to define.
