It is at once with great pleasure and great sadness that we announce the retirement of two GIANTS within our Fenstermaker family: R.J. Boutte, Senior Vice President and Greg Palmer, PLS, Vice President, Contracts & Acquisitions. With almost a century of combined commitment to our company, we’re in absolute awe of this duo’s tireless service and vast contributions.

R.J. has been a vital member of our family since 1972 — 48 years of service! During his tenure,  R.J. has contributed substantially to the formulation of our Safety and Quality Control Programs, elevating our standards to a notable level and increasing our reputation as a Safety First organization. As a result of his skillful management, we’ve experienced tremendous growth in size, expertise, and revenue.

 

R.J. had this to say about his time with Fenstermaker:

“The thing I will miss most are the wonderful and very talented people I have been so fortunate to know and work with in this company throughout my years here. I could not have imagined a finer group of people over the years to have spent most of my waking hours with and for that I am forever grateful!”

Greg joined the Fenstermaker team in August of 1984 — 36 years ago! He has worn many hats throughout his tenure and was instrumental to Fenstermaker’s growth through his expansive aptitude in finance, contract management, negotiations, and acquisitions. Greg has also been a driving force in the expansion and diversity of the company, playing a vital role in the development of the firm’s work ethic, culture and values.

 

Greg had this to say about his time with Fenstermaker:

“I hold relationships above anything else. The hours spent with Brad as we worked, talking about family and our family values; the many flights, miles, hotels, and presentations with Bill and Brad, being a part of the family; the professional discussions with Mr. C. H. Fenstermaker, the feeling of being in the presence of a Master Craftsman; sharing the love of walking in the footsteps of the original Surveyors; a visit from Miss Willie, what a ray of sunshine, the touch of a beautiful Lady; the discussions and decisions made with Bill, R.J., Mr. Curry, Brad, and others. The trust woven through our relationships was and is amazing.”

The deep gratitude and acknowledgement of these two greats is captured in the words of our CEO and our President.

We offer a heartfelt THANK YOU and all of our best wishes in retirement to R.J. and Greg, two of Fenstermaker’s seniormost leaders. We celebrated their years with us on December 21st as 2020 draws to a close. R.J. and Greg’s retirement presents us with an immeasurable loss; however, it is a well-deserved honor for them.
