This year’s annual luncheon was held on January 31, 2019 at City Club of Lafayette. The nominees for the 2018 President’s Award were Travis Bodin, Survey Office Operations Leader; Dr. John Foret, Vice President of Environmental; Greg Palmer, Vice President of Contracts & Acquisitions; Chase Berard, Engineer; Lauren Ortego, Business Development Coordinator; Jane Fournet, Survey Division Controller; Mike Parrie, Director of Network Operations; and Rita Dean, IT Support Specialist.

Greg Palmer, Vice President of Contracts & Acquisitions, was chosen as this year’s recipient of the President Award. There is no one with a keener sense of the importance of ethics in this line of work than Greg. His moral standards are unquestionable. Greg is always pushing himself and his coworkers to do better than expected. Greg’s leadership style is friendly, yet straightforward. He provides the proper level of guidance while encouraging creativity. Greg has been with Fenstermaker through all stages of its technological growth. He has been a champion of many efforts to push the firm’s technology forward. Sherie Burton, Director of Corporate Communications, noted, “No one has given more of himself to Fenstermaker than Greg Palmer. He has sacrificed his time with his family by working around the clock. His complete dedication to Fenstermaker is unquestionable.” She also said, “Greg is an absolute team player. He’s committed to our clients, and to their success, and the success of our company. He encourages everyone he works with to do better than what is expected of them. He is patient and courteous, but he has the courage to speak up when needed. He is a true southern gentleman, right down to the bow tie.” Former Fenstermaker President Alex Lincoln also had kind words to say of Greg, “This is a man I see every day, who drives in from Baton Rouge, arrives at 7 and leaves at 7. This is the man who is the epicenter of this company. He is the risk manager here. When you see him work, his organization, his dedication, his focus, it’s quite amazing and it requires a lot of energy. I thank you very much for your services.”

In addition to the President’s Award nominees, honorees at the Luncheon included the 2018 Best Award Winner and recognition of all 2018 MVP Award Winners. The Best Award for 2018 was presented to Survey Field Party Chief, Jordan Arras, for his hard work and dedication. He really stood out when several companies requested him to personally work on their projects. The 2018 MVP Award Winners were announced last December and were also recognized at the President’s Award Luncheon. The MVP Winners enjoyed visiting and celebrating their successful 2018 in the company of their fellow winners and management team. Once again, the MVP Winners for 2018 were as follows:
