Steve began his engineering experience as a student working for the Corps of Engineers in the Lafayette Office working on the construction plans for Phase II of the Old River Control Structure. After graduation, he went to work for the Louisiana Dept. of Transportation and Development. His 34-plus year career work history included the District Lab in Lake Charles as an Engineer Intern, Vermillion Parish Construction office in Abbeville as Project Engineer, Lafayette District Design, Survey, and Public Works office in Lafayette as the Design Engineer, Area Engineer over construction and maintenance in Lafayette, Acadia, and St. Martin Parishes, and finally as the Assistant District Administrator of Engineering for the Lafayette District.
He is currently working for Fenstermaker as a Construction Administrator. His responsibilities have included Quality Control/Quality Assurance of construction materials and construction projects, managing engineers and surveyors performing design and data collection of roads and bridges, as well as drainage structures, dams, and water wells. Project types consisted of construction or rehabilitation of new roadways, construction and rehabilitation of bridges, both fixed and movable. Other projects included the construction of pipe, arch, and box-type cross-drain structures, as well as boat ramps and flow control structures.
