What does this job entail?

The Environmental Specialist will assist other environmental team members with field visits, data collection and reporting necessary to support a variety of environmental compliance needs for customers. The Environmental Specialist will be a champion of our company’s core values while maintaining internal and external customer engagement and satisfaction.

Some responsibilities include:

• Assisting senior Environmental team members with conducting wetland delineations and T&E species habitat assessments.
• Preparing requisite reports and associated maps.
• Assisting with the development and management of stormwater pollution prevention plans.
• Conducting weekly stormwater inspections and preparing inspection monitoring reports.
• Working under the direction of senior Environmental team members to gain an understanding of environmental and regulatory guidance on federal (USACE), state, and municipal laws to ensure compliance.
• Supporting team members with project permitting at the local, state, and federal level.
• Assisting with conducting limited soil sampling.

Am I qualified for this position?

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a major in Environmental Science or related field
• Previous industry experience – preferred
• Familiarity with Section 404 of the Clean Water Act – preferred
• Previous experience in wetland delineations, identification of hydric soils and plant species, and ArcGIS suite – preferred  
• May require occasional travel and overnight stays to various customer field sites
