Fenstermaker is proud to announce the addition of Engineer Intern Nicholas Castille to its Engineering team. Mr. Castille is a 2019 graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and a minor in Mathematics.
Prior to joining Fenstermaker, Nicholas was a Laboratory and Field Technician and Staff Engineer with SITE Engineering in Broussard, LA. Nicholas combines his passion for math and talent for geotechnical engineering with hands-on experience including soil testing, subsurface geotechnical investigations, foundation design, and inspections.
Engineer, Aimee Duhon Latiolais, P.E., had this to say about Nicholas: “We are excited to have Nick as a part of our Engineering Team. He has already proven to be a dedicated team member with a high level of detail and innovation in everything he does. Nick has taken on a large variety of projects in his short time here. I am looking forward to working together with Nick as he continues to grow and achieve success in his career.”
Nicholas is a member of the American Society of Engineers, serving as a Deep South Conference Volunteer in 2017. He participated in the organization’s Concrete Canoe Team in 2017 and the Steel Bridge Team in 2018.
Drawn to the fields of architecture and engineering at an early age, Nicholas chose the latter as his career path, feeling that this field provided him with broader options. “I’ve always been prone to problem-solving in general, so engineering felt like a comfortable fit for me.” When asked what impact he hopes to have in his career, Nicholas said, “I hope that I can help younger generations to gain an interest in Engineering or STEM careers… I can help them to know and believe that it’s a legitimate and feasible choice for them. If I can be an engineer, so can they.”
