Kimberly McDaniel, P.E., PTOE has joined the Fenstermaker team as Baton Rouge Engineering Director. Mrs. McDaniel has 16 years of experience in the engineering industry. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 2003 from Louisiana Tech University and her Master of Science in Civil Engineering in 2005 from Wayne State University. Mrs. McDaniel earned her Professional Engineering license in the State of Louisiana in 2007 and is also registered in the State of Texas.
Throughout her career she has performed a wide variety of traffic engineering, feasibility, and transportation safety studies as well as performed roadway design. Mrs. McDaniel has extensive experience managing projects, budgets, and teams. She is an accomplished project manager and holds leadership positions in several professional organizations. Mrs. McDaniel serves on the Louisiana Tech University Alumni Association National Board of Directors, the Louisiana Tech Engineering & Science Foundation Board, and was recently named the 2018 Louisiana Tech Young Alumnus of the Year. Vice President of Engineering, Raymond Reaux, P.E. stated, “Fenstermaker is excited and energized with Kimberly McDaniel joining our Engineering team. Kimberly brings a complementary vision and unique skill set as a Professional Transportation Operations Engineer to the Baton Rouge market and beyond. Her skills include Traffic Operation Analysis, Geometric Design Operational Effects, Traffic Safety and Control Devices, as well as Traffic Impact Studies.”
Prior to rejoining the consulting industry in Louisiana, Mrs. McDaniel spent six years working at the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development in Traffic Engineering Management. Her primary role was the development of a comprehensive Access Management Plan for the State of Louisiana. Mrs. McDaniel is very knowledgeable in the areas of innovative intersection design and operation (including roundabouts, R-Cuts, Michigan U-turns), feasibility study requirements, access connection safety and design, corridor studies, interchange modification and justification studies, traffic impact studies, crash analyses, safety studies, low-cost safety improvements, and traffic impact analyses.
