Sasol Chemicals (USA) LLC planned to make a significant investment in Southwest Louisiana with the proposed construction of a world-scale ethane cracker and derivatives complex as well as a gas-to-liquids facility in Westlake, Louisiana. Fenstermaker was contracted to rezone approximately 1,500 acres of property to I2-Heavy Industrial. As part of this rezoning effort, Fenstermaker was responsible for coordinating with various community representatives including Calcasieu Parish Police Jury, local water, drainage, sewer, and fire districts, mayors, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, the Department of Health and Hospitals, private utility companies, and the general community. Fenstermaker prepared all application documents, maps, renderings, and the developer’s agreement. In addition, Sasol contracted Fenstermaker to obtain over 1,500 access agreements for the completion of the cultural investigation.

Project scope included:
Preparation of GIS database
Inventory of all infrastructure within the project area
Review of Traffic Analysis, Drainage Analysis, Economic Impact Analysis, and Permit Documents
Completion of Renderings of the Proposed Site
Coordination and Completion of the Developers Agreement
Public and Agency Coordination Meetings
