The ME-23 South of Pecan Island Freshwater Introduction Project involves the marshes adjacent to LA Highway 82 near Pecan Island, LA. The project is bound in the south by the Gulf of Mexico, west by Rollover Bayou, north by LA 82, and east by a complex system of tidally influenced oilfield access canals.

Fenstermaker’s primary goal is to divert freshwater and nutrients from White Lake into the project area to suppress salinities and promote a healthier marsh ecosystem.
